In the second Artist Series, our product company notNeutral had the privilege of collaborating with a multitalented group of artists to design a limited-edition collection of ceramic mugs. From painters and streetwear designers to tattoo artists, each collaborators was given complete creative control to apply their signature style to notNeutral’s iconic Lino mug.

Aries Rhysing is a tattoo artist based out of @allsacredtattoo in Denver, Colorado, whose style honors and celebrates the ancient tradition of the art form. He draws his inspiration from the artists who forged the path before him, the world and its cultures, and the abundance of beauty in nature.
His ornamental Neo Japanese design features a spider mum and a mandala, a focal point for meditation. He drew inspiration from the ritual of sitting with his coffee in the morning and focusing his intentions for the day.
Matthew Langille is an artist and designer we love for his whimsical, lighthearted, and irreverent artistic style. His drawings and patterns have adorned apparel, accessories, and homewares sold around the globe.
The mug he designed for notNeutral is inspired by his stream of consciousness drawings he calls “everything doodles.”
Aaron Kai is known around the world for his apparel, prints, and colorful large-scale murals inspired by pop culture and childhood memories of surfing in his native Hilo, Hawai’i. This is notNeutral’s second mug with Aaron, and our first ever collaboration to create a custom coupe plate.
Malcolm-Emilio is a painter living and working in Los Angeles whose work covers walls, shops, and galleries in our home of Leimert Park and around the world. Malcom uses various mediums to inspire new perspectives and explore how humanity can better coexist with one another and the planet.
“Life Force Energy” printed in the bottom of the mug is meant as a daily mantra once you finish your coffee or tea.
Anwar Carrots is one of the top creatives in streetwear today, leading the next generation of Los Angeles designers. Heading his namesake label, “Carrots by Anwar Carrots”, Anwar has collaborated with some of the biggest fashion and lifestyle brands around the world (and now us!).
