Blurring the Boundaries

RIOS brings an wealth of horticultural expertise and an ethos of experimentation into landscape designs for the home and workplace that blur the boundaries between outside and in.

Our process for creating habitats in interior spaces fuses research with innovative design to create unexpected, beautiful, and thriving interior gardens.

Purposeful Placemaking

Beyond the aesthetic and olfactory delight bestowed by indoor plants, quantifiable health benefits abound. RIOS approaches interior plants not just as an aesthetic placement, but with an intent to create healthier interior spaces. Rating systems such as the WELL Building Standard encourage the installation of interior landscapes to increase oxygen levels, purify the air, and reduce airborne dust — resulting in increased productivity, focus, and workplace wellbeing.

By infusing our process with research, innovative design, and ongoing evaluation, we create indoor ecosystems that evolve for years to come.

Innovate With Us

Investigating Landscapes

Our botanical themes are globally inspired and allow for experimentation, color, and playfulness to flourish. Our projects calibrate the landscape for microclimate, water capture, enhanced biodiversity, and habitat. This adventurous engagement with local conditions is fundamental to achieving an authentic destination for visitors to the region through the medium of landscape.
