The Bellco Capital Family Office brings seven portfolio companies together on a single floor, balancing shared culture with each entity’s individual identity. The previous office was enclosed and fragmented, limiting visibility, interaction, and cross-company collaboration. Working with Bellco, RIOS envisioned a workplace with a residential sensibility that reflected the group’s interconnected work across life science, real estate, consumer products, and media.
Spanning 20,600 square feet with 360-degree views from downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean, the redesigned workplace uses interior architecture and strategic office planning to create a dynamic, light-filled headquarters where shared spaces anchor the flow between firms.
The Office Planning Strategy
RIOS interviewed Bellco Capital leadership and stakeholders from each portfolio company to understand operational relationships, work styles, and shared values. Those insights inform a neighborhood-based planning strategy that organizes the office as a series of distinct yet connected zones.
The café, boardroom, and reception act as central gathering spaces that encourage interaction across teams. Layered transitions between work areas also give each company space to operate independently while connecting to the larger workplace community.
The Workplace Solution: Identity and Community
The redesigned interiors balance cohesion with individuality throughout the workplace. A gradient-patterned perimeter carpet and a curated material palette of polished quartzite, corduroy wallcovering, and velvet upholstery create continuity and movement throughout the space.
Key interior design elements include a fluted oak reception desk, built-in banquettes with integrated wireless charging, and custom RIOS-designed dining tables. Select existing furniture was repurposed, supporting a workplace strategy that balances sustainability with long-term design integrity.
The Bellco Capital Family Office now occupies a workplace befitting a private investment firm with diverse interests, reflecting the agility, connectivity, and diversity of its portfolio.
