At the core of his practice, Todd is passionate about designing healthy, sustainable environments that nurture their ecological, social, and cultural context. Todd has decades of experience leading a wide range of projects from conceptual design to final production. He approaches every project with an eye towards detail and seeks to solve complex problems with refined solutions.
Todd’s designs are tailored to fit the specific environmental and cultural circumstances of the site, making people feel comfortable, welcome, and present. He coordinates multidisciplinary project teams, facilitates public workshops and meetings, and assists with obtaining entitlements and regulatory approvals. Todd has contributed to hundreds of projects nationwide, including parks, plazas, waterfronts, civic and cultural institutions, campuses, communities, urban infill and brownfield developments, mixed-use centers, streetscapes, and transportation corridors. Prior to joining RIOS, Todd has held positions with Studio-MLA, Muñoz & Company, and served as the University of Texas’ Landscape Architect, to name a few. Whether working with 19th-century parks or contemporary landscapes, his designs reflect each site’s contextual vocabulary while serving the community.
