Dami brings his radical design vision to projects, leveraging the relationship between culture and aesthetics to improve the quality of life through his designs.
As Studio Director, Dami applies his accumulated knowledge in design and representation to contribute to thought leadership and shape design excellence around the office. He believes architecture is a complex network of relationships constantly shaping the world and that as designers, we are all catalysts for connections.
His experiences working on and completing a handful of commercial renovations and ground-up projects have gained him the technical knowledge and design sensitivity to understand trends in the future of the workplace. Dami uses design as a primary means of connecting to others – combining research, narrative, representation as problem solving tools to suggest volumetric and behavioral solutions that spark engagement and amplify the user experience.
Having lived in the Netherlands, Nigeria, and Canada, Dami has attributed to his eclectic perspective on the intricacies of constantly evolving cultural dynamics and the spatial ramifications of overlapping cultural identities. His multi-layered cultural background has widened the range of his design vision and allows him to make meaningful connections with internal and external teams. His collaborative team spirit reinvigorates the cultural experience of RIOS, from project teams to the larger office despite our hybrid reality.
Dami is in tune with the trajectory of architectural pedagogy by consistently engaging in academia, from teaching and lecturing at UCLA’s Architecture and Urban Design Program to being a visiting critic at USC, Sci-Arc, Woodbury, Cal Poly Pomona, and Kent State University.
