We’re pleased to announce that Melanie Freeland and Peter Emerson have been named Studio Directors at RIOS.
Melanie brings over fifteen years of experience leading Interior Design and Architecture projects with a focus on delivering innovative designs across a diverse set of projects types.
She is leading the RIOS’ interior architecture studio, which is currently working on projects like Sunset Las Palmas, interiors for a confidential music streaming company, and a wellness-driven oncology experience at The Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine of USC.
Peter has been with RIOS for almost a decade, leading Landscape Architecture projects that meld landscape, planning, and architecture at all scales of design.
He joins Nate Cormier, Brent Jacobsen, and Katherine Harvey as a co-Studio Director for the firm’s landscape architecture studio, which is working on such projects as Jones Plaza in the Houston Theater District and the Descanso Gardens Masterplan, and has recently completed South Park Commons and 1 Hotel West Hollywood.
