In collaboration with RIOS, JANUS et Cie’s second annual global student design competition concluded as they celebrated the five finalists and announced the grand prize winner at NeoCon.
Inspired by Aristotle’s renowned quote, “The whole is greater than the sum of the parts,” this year’s competition called for versatile furniture designs centered around the idea of placemaking with an emphasis on how their products could cluster, group, and fit together within the larger dialogue between design and community.
The final designs innovatively incorporated a sense of playfulness, inclusion, and contextualism that harmoniously brought the products together into each environment.
